  • NextPhase advances awareness for ASI within industry, academia, and government – helping it expand awareness and its product offering

    Challenge
Established in 1986 as a non-profit foundation, the Advanced Systems Institute of BC (ASI) plays a vital role in building a globally competitive advanced technology sector in BC. ASI had built a high level of awareness and a solid reputation among specific audiences, but it lacked awareness and understanding among key provincial bureaucrats, federal politicians, and segments of academia and the industry. The overall communications goal for ASI was to increase the Institute’s awareness and influence greater funding and support.

    Action
The first step was to develop a strategic communications plan to lay the foundation for future initiatives. This was followed by a rebranding strategy, media relations and marketing program implementation. Deliverables included an updated name, new identity, corporate brochure and folder, website, e-newsletter, multi-media presentation, trade show display and banners. NextPhase also helped promote and advertise the ASI Exchange – BC’s premier advanced technology and science show.

    Results
With the new image and marketing material, ASI was able to fulfill a number of mandates including accessing new capital investment, providing expanded services to the advanced technology industry and academia, and increasing attendance at the ‘ASI Exchange’. “ASI’s updated branding was excellent, and ongoing media relations has been providing much wider exposure for us. NextPhase was able to interpret our vision into reality,” stated Victor Jones, President of ASI.
